Dear family and friends, due to the distraction of facebook I just spent 15 minutes not emailing you. 😀
We had a great week this week though. In fact the best I’ve ever seen this zone have. We’ve all been getting better at how to proselyte on facebook. Which included finding people through our hobbies. Which included me talking to people on different NFL pages and liking their appropriate comments and in turn helping them contact a representative of Jesus Christ. But I didn’t plan ahead so It led to a lot of posts on sunday that I had to avoid so I wouldn’t get distracted. Its been fun being a pioneer. a few of the spiritual highlights involve blessings. I was on splits with a brother from our ward out amongst the people. We prayed and both had the prompting to visit Kasandra. Who you should say hi to sometime. She is delightful. We had a great visit with her and talked about how she would feel to have her son baptized when he turns 8 in February and how she feels about preparing to go to the temple. Afterward we did a short visit with some investigators. I then had the thought to visit a family that we hadn’t planned to see. The Sjodens. (shoden) We went by and they were in the same state as normal. TONS of health problems. Only sister Sjoden out of the whole family is a member. We offered to give her husband a blessing, he has never been to church or met with elders or had a blessing and is usually gone 6 days a week trucking, but he agreed! Sister Sjoden was stunned. We gave him a blessing and afterwards he said he felt a warm tingling running down from his head. He loved it! We are going to go back this week for service.
We got to give some more blessings yesterday for the singles sisters. They were teaching a lesson and called us to come over at 7pm last night. We gave a blessing to an older lady who is a member who had some health problems. We then left, but before we got to far the sisters came running out asking if we could come give the investigator there a blessing too. After the blessing he said it felt like Jesus’ hands were on his head. It was so cool! the Priesthood is definitely real.
Hmm, what else should I put in here. I’m selling my bike to another missionary so if I could get one for my birthday that would be cool. But don’t buy it without me!
Tangent: Elder Choffin is a poet and is actually pretty good. You should add him and like his poems as he posts them. He has started to write a poem for each lesson.
Hmm, it was Elder Choffins bday last pday so you could send him a package too with lots of stuff for me in it. But it sounds like you already did. I’m going to send this email till I think of more stuff to say.
I’ve been hopping back and forth from facebook to email. I’m teaching a kid about prayer right now. He doesn’t believe in it. Its interesting. I’ve been thinking a lot lately how much of a blessing it is to have all my family be active members of the church. with testimonies and a love for God. Its so hard to see other elders or families who have those who lack faith. Its way sad. So remember how happy the gospel makes us. And read your scriptures!
