Dear Family and Friends,
Our mission does not have the buy the ipad option since we have to deal with a much larger quantity then any other mission in the world. 251 8873s.. But I have decided that I don’t want one just yet. I would rather have an Iphone until I decide what would help me the most in school. But that’s not important right now anyway.
Today is Elder Choffin’s 19th birthday. So sing a song or something. An Elder in our zone gave me a watch to give to him today. So last night I put it in Elder Choffin’s favorite cereal and when he poured it this morning it came tumbling out! I greatly enjoyed it. the week was great otherwise. We had an uplifting zone meeting where we had the zone pair up and had each companionship go to their own room in the stake center. WHY? so they could Skype each other! We had them Skype, teach the restoration using our 8873s and invite them to be baptized. All from 200 ft away without yelling once. Its amazing what we are able to do with the knowledge and technology God has given us.
On Wednesday I exchanged with Elder Gasu (nasoo) he is half samoan half german and is going to play right guard at Utah State after his mission. So we had a grand time. He and I contacted a ton of people and put up Facebook flyers everywhere! (flyers that have our name on them, a picture of Christ, and a QR code that takes them to Mormon.org) This is how we find people in our own area to teach over facebook.
General Conference here was a blast! Santa Rosa is the best place to be in the mission for conference. We have a member of the Healdsburg ward who prepares a meal for all the missionaries between sessions. She is way nice. And we have an ice cream social at President Alba’s after the priesthood session! The admission cost is either an investigator, a less active, or someone who is preparing for a mission. During the ice cream social president asked 3 or 4 of us if he wanted to see what happens to disobedient missionaries. He took us through the laundry room, through the garage, down to the back yard, into a storage room, then under the house, all with the lights off. Then he flipped the lights on and there he was! A skeleton with proselyting cloths and a nametag on… That’s why you need to keep the rules.
One of the highlights of conference was having Kasandra there with her son Christian. She loved it! And I got Christian to sit still for most of the time. Its been so fun to see how she has gone from a door contact to a member watching general conference. Well that’s the highlights for the week.
Keep taking care of yourselfs! And watch the first session of conference asap! Its the one that talks the most about missionary work.
Love you all!
