We’ll It took my a while but I think I’ve mustered up the self control I need to force myself to type an email. But it may not be long. But i’ll make it spiritual!
This week we got to hear form Elder Aidukaitis of the 70. He is the most peculiar 70 ever. He was able to make fun of us and teach us with the spirit all at the same time! It was amazing, I really enjoyed his visit. He taught us a lot and its going to be hard to apply all of it. But we will be blessed as we do.
After his inspiring and humorous visit we had a great week.
On Pday I learned that Elder Choffin is amazing at basketball.
On Wednesday I exchanged with an Elder Heil from Colorado. He doesn’t have any close family in Utah though. But we were able to teach a new investigator named Chinel who David brought to church with him last week. He is a solid kid. He talks about the church with about as many people as we do! We had some great experiences with him this week. We saw him on Thursday and had him teach us the plan of salvation and he even used some Mormon messages to teach us. I was impressed, we helped him out by asking a few questions like “where do I go when I die?” but he answered them right!
On Saturday night his parents were discussing if they should let him go to Church again this Sunday. And the situation didn’t look promising. He didn’t ask their permission ahead of time. But we told him to pray and we all prayed and he prayed again Sunday morning. And 10 minutes after his prayer his mom gave him permission to attend Sacrament meeting! It was sweet! Every time he closes a lesson with a prayer he asks to have his parents hearts softened so he can get baptized and go on a mission. He seems like a gangster kid but he’s super solid on the inside.
The other best part of the week was sending Elder Choffin to teach Kassandra on splits. And she came to Church! For any of you who don’t remember she is the one who I tracted into my second week ever while leading the area on exchanges. She got baptized 7 weeks later and has been struggling because of health issues and a crazy 7 year old son. But she brought him and it made me feel so happy to see her there. I was in disbelief for a moment. But I loved it. She is going to join us next week to watch Conference at the Stake Center.
Well that’s all I’ve got for the week. I’m mentally done with typing. We do it a lot here. Maybe I should start using Siri. I’ll think about it. Love you!
