It sounds like your week has been great. We dont have too many Baptists here because its not the south. Although we did have a ton in Vallejo. What we have here are a ton of Catholics and Jehovah’s Witnesses. I am not fond of either of these groups. But anyway i digress. We have had a great week. The weather was a sunny 70 degrees the entire time. Just like it should be. We have a nice sea breeze that rolls over the hills into Santa Rosa and keeps everything nice and cool. I ride my trusty Schwinn bike everywhere i go. It is a good bike. i have 24 speeds on that thing. We have a ton of members who are willing to help us out. Splits on Tuesday and Thursday. book of Mormon class on Wednesday. We get priests out with us on Sundays. We have been teaching our investigator Brenda. We have a date set for her on may 18th. We taught her the plan of salvation and the law of tithing this week. Her son was baptized last year and he did a great job teaching with us and testifying. It was great. We have our other investigator Dwayne who cant read. He loves coming to church. We helped him download the Book of Mormon on his I-pad the other day. He should be good to go now.
We ate dinner at a members home on Friday and they had a 5ft long Scottish Claymore! i got a sweet picture. i was happy about that. They are the ones who are helping us to fellowship Dwayne. They love comics and stuff and so does Dwayne. Every time i see him he is wearing something with a super hero on it. Mostly iron man. But he does have some other stuff. But anyway keep working hard! i love ya, i tell everyone that my brother got to go to the 2nd best mission on the earth. They always think its cool that you’re in Independence.
Don’t get used to the long emails. I have been thinking of voluntarily giving up P-day altogether. Or at least the email part of it. I’ll call ya on Mother’s Day and then I’ll just tell you how my mission was when i get home.
Anyway, I will probably call you around 4 here which is 5 there which should be 6 in Kansas.
I did not yet find out if we are related to the Elwood’s. They do have relatives from Utah, someone way back named Harold Elwood. Is he in our family tree?
Brenda is doing well, she is still a bit shaky about her date but loves church and the members all know her and love her. Pray that she will feel the spirit more and more. The situation is already perfect and all set up for her to be baptized and join the church.
Our German investigator complimented my pronunciation when i did speak with her in German. On a side note all the Spanish Elders say my Spanish pronunciation is great too when i go on exchanges with them and we read from the Book of Mormon. I just have a silver tongue.
That’s sweet that the Davis family has so many missionaries out! if Megan and Matthew both leave now we can “one up them” Get a move on those papers Megan!
