I feel like I need to explain the subject of this email. So yesterday we were looking at the contents of an sd card than Nathan mailed home and it included some video clips of the Elders in Nathan’s apartment trying to shoot jellybeans to each other. They seemed to be having fun, but it was rather disgusting. One Elder would shoot the jelly bean out of his mouth and across the room, the next elder would try to catch it in his mouth and then shoot it back across the room to Nathan. Fortunately, most of them were ending up on the floor!
Dear Elder TJ,
This week i got transferred. So yeah… I’m down in vallejo. Its pretty intense. Right across the bay from Oakland. So we try not to be out of the car after dark. Its super fun! We have 4 missionaries serving in our ward so we get to see them a lot as well. Its great fun. Here is how our week went.
Well i’ve been in Vallejo for a week now almost. I love the area, Elder Hafen is a great missionary, and the ward is amazing. They are more engaged in working with the missionaries then most of the other area’s i’ve seen. We have a great ward mission leader, a great bishop and a lot of good members. But right now we don’t have many investigators. We have had a couple of very good lessons with less active members of the ward. Elder Hafen is a great teacher, i’ve already learned from him. But we are having a hard time finding. I am trying to do the 10 new people a day thing. We have been able to get 10 a couple times and even 12 one day. The rest of the days have been between 3-7. We have been working hard at it though. We have been working on using the pamphlets as well. It helped us a great deal as we taught the restoration to a less active family on saturday night. The spirit was very strong there and they have helped us teach priesthood line of authority very well. The family we taught was at church on sunday and were smiling the whole time! I loved seeing them there. We were able to have a good experience last night. We walked down the street just looking for houses with people home. We met a guy named Tony. We taught him the restoration using the pamphlet and he asked us a great question. He said to me “do you really believe this is the one true church” i loved it! i was able to bear my testimony and connect it to the book of mormon and we committed him to reading the intro last night. We are going to see him again at 630 today. I’ve learned there are always miracles and people to find. We just have to work really hard to find them.
So there you have it. We are working hard. That is so sweet that you were prompted to go see that family! keep listening to the spirit and dont do anything to make it leave. It will help you daily. Eduardo Gavarrett is the one who came to our mission. So be sure to wear your tie! and dont let the other missionaires be jealous. Make sure you tell him where you got it. haha that would be sweet. Well I gtg. Dont get too fat on christmas cookies. They will keep them coming! it never stops. Have fun and remember to teach about christ since it is his birthday.

there is what I sent President, and spencer.
Sorry i’m getting lazy so copy and paste is my new best friend.
So this last weekend i introduced Elder Thompson to all of out investigators. Then I left. We drove down in a van for 4 hours in the rain. Then i got in a car and drove down through Novato then took the 37 out to Valley-Joe. This place is sweet. I love it here. We have the very south end of vallejo. I cover the bottom half of the vallejo 2nd ward. We have 4 elders in this ward. I have already had to tell like 3 people we dont think black people are evil haha its been fun. My new companion is Elder Hafen. From Salt Lake City. He leaves in 37 days. He is counting down but he is a very hard working missionary. its fun serving with him. He spent the first part of his mission in Vallejo 1st ward and so he will have spent 10.5 months here by the time his mission is over. And he isn’t dead yet! God does protect his missionaries. His favorite color is yellow. He was home schooled. he does dance, and i think swimming. I have no idea what my new address is and if you send it to the mission office its not like they will send it back or not get it to me. Just send it to them! if you send it here it WILL probably get stolen. I did write the primary while in the van from Eureka. So they should get it soon. I sent it to our house. I’m glad curtis is home. I am getting exercise. I do not eat that much. I have a car thankfully. and I am still very in shape. just over short distances. There isn’t much i can do about it. When i was in a bike area i was just so much hungrier that i couldn’t stop eating. There is nothing you can do about it except watch what you eat. And that is impossible when every member of the ward waits till the missionaries come over to make their “Famous (insert sugary food)”. I will have to wait till the new year to lose weight. But i’m not really that fat. And i only ate half of one of those reeces cups by the way. I shared! The jelly bean thing was SUPER fun. And none of us got sick. Thats just what happens.
So i have decided i will not be skyping on Christmas. I forsee that will lead to a lot of wasted time and inability to understand the technology on my part. So i’ll call ya.
Love ! Elder Tubbs
