The email road goes both ways. And yours was unacceptably short.
Here is a bit from my email to pres.
I wanted to tell you how our fast and testimony meeting went this last sunday. It was one of my favorites. We had an amazing lesson with Brian our investigator getting ready for baptizm on November 17th. We had brother Lindsey with us at the lesson. The lesson went well and I’ll talk more about it. But He bore his testimony about the spirit of missionary work and told the whole ward that “if you haven’t been out with the missionaries i encourage you to do so”. It was sweet! The very next member to go up was an older man in our ward named brother Tolman. He told the ward about how we “Power Punched” him this week. (He got the name of power hour mixed up) We did service and visited him this week. He was so excited. It is amazing to see how this ward is doing. They are getting more and more excited about all the work that is going on in Arcata. After church brother Tolman volunteered to take us out. He spent 4 hours with us! We helped him do his home teaching and introduced him to a few of our investigators. It was a great day. We are going to see a few of our investigators tonight with members as well. We have a lesson with Brian tonight at 7. We are bringing brother Cole with us who is actually the member who we did power hour with to find him. Brother Cole got so excited when he found out how Brian is doing! I love this ward and how missionary minded they are. We are going to see Joe Mazzatti tonight as well. President Floyd is going to come with us and his 12 year old son and invite Joe and his family to dinner some time.. We are going to talk more about the Priesthood with Joe and hopefully get him to understand that there is only one true church with the full gospel and authority. He already knows the Book of Mormon is true so it will be easy if we can help him make the connection.
We had an amazing week!
Monday we had a half p-day because of our upcomming temple trip on thursday. So we washed both our car cleaned the apartment really good and ate dinner. We met with Brian and taught him the restoration. He loved it! that guy is amazing. He feels the spirit so easily. We saw him again later in the week so you will hear more.
Tuesday we Exchanged and i spent the day in Mckinelyville with Elder Brown. (the linebacker from ASU) hes a fun missionary. We made a very concerted effort to not mention football and we were successful.
Wednesday we exchanged back and did a bit of tracting. We ate dinner with our investigators Hannah and Roger. They made us spaghetti. We had a good time visiting with them. They are really just starting to feel the spirit and recognize how happy it makes them. They are so excited about it! Hannah is already a member by the way. But we talked about how they should have a family goal of going to the temple and they really liked that idea. It was a fun dinner. We then taught a scripture study class that we have been trying to start on wednesday nights at 7. Us and the MKville missionaries have been inviting everyone we see to that class and someone came this week! We should have at least three there this week. A few of our members are going to start coming. but we studied humility out of the scriptures with this 17 year old boy named Eric. He is way solid he is just waiting till he’s 18 to get baptized in the other ward.
Thursday was the longest day of my mission. We got up at 4am to go to the Medford Oregon Temple. President Bingham in the Mission Presidency took us. I got to ride shotgun! He told me all about the animals, the indians, the coast, the trees, the history and all that sweet touristy stuff. It was a lot like riding with dad somewhere. We got to drive through crescent city. I saw some Elk. (they are huge!) I got to take a picture in front of a 300 foot tall Redwood. The Temple was amazing. We did 2 sessions back to back. It was exhausting. We got kicked out of the celestial room because we had to head out to get home in time. (i never thought you could get kicked out of there) We then made it back in time to see brian. We gave him a box of clothing taht had been donated for his 2 year old little girl to wear. She didn’t have any dresses for church so we asked around the ward. He loved it! he gets more and more excited to see us.
Friday we were all super tired. But we did weekly planning anyway. We saw brian again and taught him about the word of wisdom. Before we were even done he said “I’ve gotta quit smoking” haha he is so cool. He is the best.
On saturday we made a cake for elder campers birthday. We went to a baptizm in the singles branch and we saw our investigator Kanton. He had been watching conference online and after watching half an hours worth he had 3 pages of notes. (this guy likes to study) so we told him he didn’t need to know everything before he got baptized. He just needed to know the basics. so we gave him an old PMG and told him to study chapter 3 haha.
Sunday as you can tell was great. We had a fun day and ate dinner ate the Diekers. They have a house up on a hill where you can see out over Humbolt bay. Its deep in the redwoods. I loved it there. and they gave us apple crisp dad. Well thats all i got. Love you!
