Dear Family and friends,
This week was a good one. But they are all good. We didn’t do much exciting so I’ll go through one day at a time again.
Monday we did P-day things, we got to play Frisbee! I really enjoyed that. We then had a lesson with our investigator named Bobby. We taught him about Tithing and we went over the Baptismal interview questions to get him ready.
Tuesday we had a big zone meeting. The first Tuesday of every month is no longer a district meeting but a zone meeting instead. That’s a church wide thing I was told, but anyway it was fun. We went to institute that day as well and had a great time.
Wednesday we did a lot more stuff. We did service for the Watkins. They live in the 1st ward so the 1st ward Elders and us went there to help clear their back yard. We worked out there for a few hours then they gave us subway. Sister Watkins has some health issues so she asked us for a blessing. It was great, I love being able to serve others. After that we changed and drove out to Rio Vista. We got to talk to one of our investigators named Zane. He is a great guy who asks very deep questions. Like “where does God get his power from?” and we were like IDK, but the Book of Mormon is true! He is a great guy. But we found out he and his parents are moving back to Arkansas in a week from today so we told the Rio Vista Sister missionaries they could go ahead and visit him as often as possible until then. We then came back to Fairfield for dinner, which was Hmong, and tasted great! They make such good food. Then we had to exchange at 8 to be in two places at once. Elder Blowers went with Elder Waite and one of our recent converts to a lesson with Seffie. Elder Camper and I stayed at the Stake Center so Bobby could be interviewed to be baptized. He passed like a champ. And Elder Blowers and Waite had a great lesson. It was a very productive day.
Thursday we spent most of the day getting signatures and calling people to help out at bobby’s baptism. We did go tracting, and it was funny, because one the first door we knocked on we got to teach and give a BOM. So we only knocked on one door ha-ha.
Friday we did weekly planning again. Just like last week, and we had a sweet miracle happen. We were at dinner with President Vang and his family and eating great food. When we asked if they knew anyone we could visit. They told us to visit a less active member and his girlfriend who had just moved here. So after dinner we had time, so we did. She was there, her name is Chao and she said she already knows the Book of Mormon is true. But she had to leave for a relief society thing at that moment so we said we’d see her at church. She was there! So now we are going to see her again later tonight. I’m very excited about her. We then went to read scriptures with a few other members of the Branch, Fong and Seego. They are a lot of fun. Seego has come to play games on P-day with us before. We are trying to get them to read more on their own right now.
Saturday we went to the Food Bank all morning to eat their food. Jk, we did service with the singles there. It was a great time. The Elders quorum president and his friend were talking about “magic the gathering” and things like that. They are fun guys. I got a good work out too. Bending and picking up 44 lbs of vegetables with just my back. No other muscles. It was fun. We then went to a Baptism. Someone got baptized in the Cordelia 2nd ward. Then we hung out for like half an hour till the next Baptism started. Then a guy named Bobby Humphrey got baptized into the Singles Branch. It was pretty sweet, he was so excited! His friend Sean Condie baptized him (the one Elder Cardoso trained in New Jersey) and the Elders Quorum President confirmed him the next day.
On Sunday we went to church after studies. Then after church we went to dinner. Then we met with Alex who was Baptized 3 months ago. Then we tried to have Mission Prep which is always hit or miss. This week was a miss, but next week will be better! Then we went to bed cause it was 1030. And in the words of Mrs Figg. “that, that was what happened”
I love you all! All is well in Cali. 😀
