I’m sorry to say I am not in the typing mood, so this may be short. I’ll do my best.
This week was a pretty good one. I talked to a guy who taught me how to meditate. I have not had time to try it out though. I talked to a guy who spoke with the Angel Moroni. So that was cool, but anyway, we had good things happen this week.
We played RUGBY! and FOOTBALL, and FRISBEE! So at Ross I bought some cleats that are almost exactly like the ones I left at home.
We had a zone meeting – it was cool – we got to see the Crescent City Elders who we almost never see. We then exchanged and I rode the bus down to Fortuna with ELDER PRYOR! He is sweet – their area has a lot of cool stuff going on. The members down there are all sharing the Gospel like mad. It’s sweet! (read D&C 88:81 and apply). On the bus ride back we had a sweet experience. We were talking to this buzzed guy. Elder Pryor was mostly. We talked to him about the Word of Wisdom and gave him a pamphlet to read. Afterwards a lady who was on the bus behind me asked me for the Book of Mormon that was in my hand. So I gave it to her. She then gave me a piece of paper with her name and number already on it! Her husband is an inactive member and she wants to learn more about the church. It was sweet! Miracles are happening every day. We just have to pray and do our best so we can be in the right place at the right time.
We read from the Book of Mormon with a sweet old lady named Irene. She told us she has some relatives who want to learn about the Book of Mormon. So we will be meeting with them later this week. 😀
We helped our investigator, Sara, move to Eureka. She met the sisters who are the missionaries down there. (one is from Virginia and goes to UVA – dad should like that) We then helped her get ready for her baptismal interview which was on Friday.
We did weekly planning and had Sara’s interview. She passed with flying colors! She is so excited. She is getting baptized on Megan’s birthday, (and I just found out from Fairfield that Ryan is too) Happy birthday, Megan!
We helped a new family move into the Ward. They live out of town in the redwoods. SO beautiful! Those are some huge trees. Ii found a 2 foot snake, too. AND I CAUGHT IT! Buddy (Nate’s 9 year-old brother, Matthew), you need to man up. We will go snake huntin’ when I get home. Anyway, it was sweet.
We read with Irene again, and talked more about meeting her family – then walked around talking to the very interesting people who live up here. It’s a sweet place, the people here are out there and have interesting ideas but they are super nice. It’s way cool.
Well that’s my week! We are going to the beach today. So yeah…
Love you all!
Tell Jessica (Crandall) if you get the chance that California is where the truly righteous go! Besides Missouri.. Anyway that’s sweet, this is a good place.
