Alright so this was a sweet and busy week. We were very blessed.
We had a half P-day because we went to the Temple on Thursday. We visited a few people and we got to read scriptures with a sweet old lady from the ward who can’t come to church. Her health won’t allow her to.
We had district meeting, where we role played teaching the entire first lesson in under 2:00 minutes. We are trying to teach more simply and be more direct so we can teach more clearly. It was a lot of fun. District meetings are always great. We also got to see a lady named Julia, one of the AP’s was at our district meeting and he asked about her. He remembered her from when he served in our area. So we decided to check up on her. We were able to give her a Book of Mormon and explain how God will tell her that it is true. It was one of my favorite teaching experiences.
We mowed Brother Larsen’s lawn again. He had knee surgery so we have been helping him out. We tore out some bushes and planted some plants for him too. He gave us waffles for our troubles. I love waffles. We also got to meet this sweet black guy named Reggie. He was asking us a bunch of questions from the bible about Adam and Eve. We answered them with scriptures from 2 Nephi 2. He loved it. He wouldn’t take a BoM but he wants us to come back and talk with him about angels. So I am going to study angels tomorrow morning. We also had another lesson with Debbi and Larry. We talked about the relationship between a couple and Christ. We told them when a couple draws closer to Christ they draw closer together. They are still progressing, at Larry’s own pace.
We went to the Temple! We got to go to the 10am session. It was very relaxing to be there. I love that place. We went to Sacramento again. We went to the distribution center afterwards so I could get another study journal. Our ride got lost while we were there. OH, you will never guess who I saw in the temple…. ELDER SEAN KING! it was epic, I walked in and he was just sitting there. He said I looked fat, I said the same. Ha-ha, he’s a great guy. He’s been out for 10 months now. He is doing great. What are the odds?
We met with Debbi and Larry again. They are still the same so we talked about faith. How we need to act on our faith and use it or else it withers and dies. They got the message, I’m pretty sure they did anyway.
We did the Mormon Helping hands project. We went to Winters, I was digging post holes with a post hole digger, then we put posts in the holes, then we ran rope through them. It was about a mile of fence. It took only a few hours though. Missionaries are good at puttin up fences. We had to rush back for a baptism after that. The Davis ward had a Baptism for a guy who has been investigating for over a year. He is such a cool guy; i got to meet him when I was in Davis a few weeks back. I was very happy for him.
We did the whole church thing, and then we went to another baptism! Our zone is doing very well this month. We have been very blessed. This one was for the Woodland 1st ward elders. A guy named Kurt who had a friend bring him to church just 2 months ago. Moral of the story is, bring your friends to church!
So yeah that was my week. Sorry I’m not very good at details. It’s been a fun week. I hope yours has been too.
