Dear Family and Friends,
This week we had a great week, just like every other week! On Monday we did P-day things. We played soccer in the gym with a lot of people who didn’t speak English. Then we ate dinner with our investigators Debbi and Larry. Debbi is a great cook. On Tuesday it was Spencer’s birthday. And we had district meeting. We all talked about our notes for conference and had some good discussions. On Wednesday we helped one of the members from our ward. He is leaving for his mission on the 11th so we helped him move a bunch of stuff from his apartment in Davis to his home in Woodland. Then we went to the homeless shelter and made soup for them. It was some tasty soup. On Thursday we had a good lesson. We had our investigator Breanne and her mom and sister all at the home of a member. We talked about baptism and she is being baptized on the 14th. We then fed chickens and Breanne and her sister got to ride some horses. It was a lot of fun. On Friday we went on exchanges. Elder Henrie who has only been out a week came to my area. He is a cool guy. He’s from Orem, he is very, very cowboy and proud of it. It was a fun exchange. We taught Debbi and Larry about the atonement and about why we celebrate Easter. Sunday was a crazy day. We had a sweet Elder’s quorum lesson and got a lot done at church. Then I made a billion phone calls to get Breanne’s baptism scheduled. I was on the phone for a while. We had a zone meeting in Davis after dinner so we actually didn’t get to teach at all on Sunday. It was weird, I didn’t like it at all. And now today is Monday again and I’m emailing. The circle continues. I’ve been thinking a lot this past week about the spirit. We can explain the gospel perfectly, but if the spirit doesn’t speak to those we are teaching then they won’t be converted. It really takes the spirit to teach someone. I’m sure you already know this. But it is a lesson I am currently learning.
-I love you all! -Elder Tubbs
OH! I almost forgot. I need you to send a text to all of my friends. Well, all the ones in my phone that you recognize. I want it to say this: “hey we are playing frisbee at the church this Saturday, who is interested?”
Will you do that for me? Please? I would be forever grateful. I want to freak some people out. Ha ha ha!
