California is awesome! It’s weird, there is no snow, and we just set a new heat record with 77 degree weather on December 2nd. There are a lot of nice people here and a lot of cool houses and trees and stuff. I see palm trees next to redwoods all the time. The vineyards are beautiful as well. Our apartment is really cool and all the people here are super nice. Not one of them has shot at me yet. 😀 We are lucky because my comp is an assistant to the president so we have unlimited miles. I don’t even have a bike yet ha-ha. And our house is pretty nice too, we have 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and only 2 elders ha-ha.
My comp is treating me very well, but the other district members do like jokes. They haven’t really gotten me yet though. They’re all good fun though. I’ve been looking for Brother Collinsworth but I haven’t seen him. I think it’s the right building but the wrong ward. There are only two. The members here are amazing! They make us food every night.
OH! I was able to meet an Elder who went home to New Zealand last week, he was chillin with us for the day. The president took all 3 of us out to eat at boathouse sushi. I ate a BLT with a full soft shell crab chillin on it. The legs were sticking out the sides and everything. He was sooooo good. President Bunker also had me try raw salmon. That wasn’t so good. Anyway, as for the work, we have been trying to focus on reactivating less active members. A lot of them are hard to get a hold of. We also have been tracting a huge apartment complex. It’s been pretty successful, we’ve met a lot of new people. We also run into a lot of people who are very knowledgeable of Anti- Mormon stuff from off the internet. It’s sad because they just don’t understand and they won’t give it a chance. They’re all still really nice. Only one guy has called us a cult so far. His dog tried to bite me. But it was tiny. Oh and I got attacked by a members little10 year old daughter yesterday. She almost hugged me! I was afraid for my life.
I love you all! Have a very Merry Christmas! -Elder Tubbs
OH! PS, I met a guy named Blake Ambridge, he served in Milan Italy, and was the Zone coordinator of all the Italian missionaries from 80-84, Anziano Ambridge. Does dad know him? He’s a super-rich neuro-doctor now.
P.P.S. Post on my blog that I saw Amber, Keyan, and Kristen in a picture on the front row at the CES fireside in November. IT WAS SO COOL!
